K.Y. Robinson is an introverted writer based in Houston, Texas. She received a B.A. in journalism and M.A. in history from Texas Southern University. She has loved words pressed against pages since childhood, and has been chasing them ever since. The Chaos of Longing is her first published poetry collection.

Definitely worth a read! I read it from start to finish and wasn't disappointed, I loved the title of the book and the themes of love, loss, longing, rejection and self discovery that are conveyed throughout this compilation of poetry.One of my favourite lines is found in "stigma & shame" whereby "I wanted to jump / from my bones / and disperse in the wind / like dandelion seed heads-- / to be free / and light as air"; natural imagery are one of my favourite themes, it's sensual, inviting, and open. And this one is all of the above, and so much more.Another favourite is "path" just the line "I took the scenic route / to your heart / and got lost / in your kiss" so simplistic, and yet, contains an abundance of emotion and imagery.Every one of these poems whisper to the heart, in one form or another, I loved it and strongly recommend that others check it out.

Ich bin fasziniert! Das Buch ist in englisch geschrieben was mich überhaupt nicht stört da ich der Sprache ziemlich vertraut bin. Nicht geeignet für die jenige die mit englisch sprachigen Fremdwörtern vertraut sind. Kommt gut verpackt an und ist auch eine tolle Geschenke Idee!

Einfach wunderschön, wie K.Y. Robinson Wörter in weiche Melodien verwandeln kann die das Herz berühren, indem sie sie einfach aneinanderreiht! Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

I can't find adequate words to describe how I feel after I finished this book. But of course, I'll try! This collection was very moving. It started a little slow but I appreciated the build up; the wind-up from "inception" to "epiphany." I loved the metaphor in that. Our lives start out somewhat slowly in the beginning, and something, or someone, pushes us into this path of longing, and brings chaos into our world, and before we know it, we are lost in our own creation, our own madness, our own lives that we don't recognize who we are....until we've reached an "a-ha" moment; the epiphany that we own our life.I had several favorites in this collection. I had several that made me tear up and push aside; triggering and haunting as they were. Several more poems that I couldn't believe simple words strung together would invoke such passion from the author, that as the reader, I'm sure I blushed several times.Beautiful read for those who want to understand why there is this chaos (in) longing.

Very sad, but relatable all at the same time. It is truly a remarkable book for it allows me to reminisce on my past love life where my feelings took control of my emotions and actions for someone that I fell hard for. It's tough to read this book without crying because her words are so powerful when she talks about her relationship. If anyone is waiting for someone to love them back, you should definitely read this because it helps you realize what you really deserve. Also, I received this book, and it was not used at all. It looked brand new as if I bought it in Barnes and Noble! Thank you!

The poems are very moving and intimate. I purchased this on a whim. I didn't really know what I was expecting from the book, but I was hooked and finished half of the book the same day it arrived. (I'm yet to finish.) Surely, there will be a 2nd time I open this book, and I'll take my time reading it. Surprisingly, the book arrived in excellent condition despite being packed with 2 hardcover books, and an equally small, paper-covered book.

Wow I'm speechless! I loved every last one of the poems in this book. This book embodies the feelings of every human that has experienced love, hurt, and rejection. Hope you don't sleep on this book because it's great.

I loved my first copy of this book, however someone borrowed it and never gave it back. I bought it again, to find it had been changed. This book had helped me feel less alone, helped me accept my past. It was raw. This revised version, is absolutely dull. I cried so much when I read the first version. This? This is disappointing, I am deeply upset. Poems I loved were taken out, and if not taken out many of my favorites were dumbed down. This is not the vulgar, raw, beautiful book I remember. If there’s a way for me to get an original copy, I’ll do it. However, this version of the book has lost most of its feeling, it’s not worth it.
